| Yuri stood in front of a building. This was the Mercenary's Guild. Angel had told him Gaige and a Laura had been looking for him to talk to him. And they were persistent too. So here he was, taking a break from trying to find Cinder and slaughtering her crispy ass. He found plenty of her cohorts, but they didn't know much. Oh well, his search will continue after he finds out what these women wanted.
Entering the place, the first thing he did was try to find a kitchen...he was hungry. Once found and raiding the fridge, there was enough ingredients for a type of seafood alfredo. With the seafood being shrimp, scallops, crap, and lobster. Some expensive shit. After using all the seafood and stuff, there was a nice big batch of it made. Yuri was an expert chef in addition to...lots of things. He also poured himself a small glass of wine and proceeded to eat until someone showed up...which wasn't very long. "I made plenty, help yourselves and then tell me whatcha' need."

| Gaige walked into her kitchen to find a pale haired man cooking food. She reached for her gun but stopped mid motion. It was just Yuri. She crossed the kitchen, metallic feet clicking against the tiles and sat down at her table. "I wasn't sure you'd come." She said looking at the meal. She shook her head. "No thanks i'm full. The residential dust bin should be around eventually. She'll take care of it." Gaige said joking.
"Right, yeah. Well, its obvious right? Your standing in the kitchen of a newly established mercenary guild. I wouldn't ask you to come all the way out here just to cook dinner." She said. "Everyone likes a mercenary every now and again. The Coalition, The Gotei, the espada, private companies and organisations, doesn't matter who. But some of these groups forget mercs are people. Think we're expendable. Frame us for shit. I decided we need protection and a place to relax, the good ones atleast. Your welcome to Join, We've had our differences in the past but you've never given me reason to not to extend an invite." She explained.
"Now don't get the wrong idea. I'm not asking you to take orders. Anyone who joins is still the boss of themselves. As long as you abide by the rules. Besides safe haven, we provide contracts that are mostly legal and don't involve hurting people who don't deserve to be hurt, and access to a nice array of equipment not available to anyone outside the guild." Gaige explained. "And thats the pitch out of the way. The other reason I asked for you is because I have a feeling people wont always play by the rules, either the mercs of the guild or the contract dealers. I need investigators, and your probably one of the best spies I know. Its a contract deal itself, so you'll be making money when the guild needs your skills. What do you think?"

| Yuri chuckled a little bit at the dust bin comment...probably talking about her arrancar friend. He listened while eating intently. "Anyone who accepts a contract from the Espada would instantly be put on the Coalition's shit list. Only way they'd be let go is if their interests somehow aligned...not unheard of, but highly unlikely. But you do have a good point...several of them actually. I can't name all the times that's been attempted on me or my brother...Lexie always thought it was cute and then proceeded to humiliate the client before doing unthinkable things to them. I just preferred to expose their shit and let the backlash do the job for me. Now, I'll admit having a second home would be nice...and an investigator would be up my ally. I don't remember when we had any differences right off hand, but depending on the rules I doubt there'll be much. No civilian deaths/injuries or very little if unavoidable, any other rules? And what would be the limits of any investigative work? Before I make a final decision, I need to know those first."
It sounded like a good arrangement so far. Having Amesbury was nice, but sometimes inconvenient. Having a second home on this side of the world would make things nicer...and he could net some contracts while he's at it too. Instead of relying on phone calls and emails from Angel. But he'll see what the bionic woman had to say first. As it stood so far, the answer would probably be yes...

| "Of course. But the same could be said for anyone who works against the espada, or the gotei. I just offer contracts that get you paid and don't get you hunted for war crimes. Although I will point out its very unlikely any Espada contracts will go up, considering their current leader is an enemy of Olivia's." Gaige said. She yawned and streached slightly.
"No breaking contracts unless you have a very good reason, no fighting in the guild outside the training arena, this place cost allot to build and the arena is the only place that can handle bullets and powers being thrown around. And thats it. Come and go as you please, help out as you like. We could use a good cook. A cut of money earned through contracts goes to the guild, and there is a membership fee to keep the place running. Besides the benefit of having a room here, food and drink is covered, and your entitled to borrow and buy equipment from the shop. I built it myself so you can expect the highest quality."
Gaige nodded. "Right. Part of the reason for the guild is to cover the asses of the members. If your accused of doing something you didn't, or claim you didn't, investigators are dispatched to find out the truth. i will do this myself if I can, or Laura, but we also run the guild and work contracts so we can't always do that. You have no right to expel anyone from the guild, no one but myself or Laura can do that, but you can look into the crimes of the defendant and find out if they're telling the true or not.
In most cases we give guild members the benefit of the doubt unless the evidence is absolutely damning. At which point, they're kicked from the guild. What happens to them after that is not our problem, unless a contract to catch them comes in. If they're not guilty, we protect them, and prove it."

| Yuri nodded. "Most can't fool my hyper intuition...I can pick out lies easily. Intent is pretty hard to misdirect and change. So far, Lexie's the only one to do it, but there can always be more people out there. I'm already saying yes, but how far can I go when finding things out? Hacking, impersonation, torture, etc.?" He doubted torture would be allowable, but everything else was probably ok. "I can also be a medic in addition to a cook...I do have a wonderful healing spell. I probably won't need additional equipment...I might take a peek if a contract looks to be a pain in the ass. What about visitors? I do sometimes have to babysit puppies...even when not in Amesbury. As annoying as that can sometimes be..."
Particularly the older ones. But it was his last little bit. After that, he might as well get comfortable...seems he'll be staying around a bit longer.

| "It depends. I never approved of torture, but I have on occasion shot people in the head so I'm not a saint. Preferably steer clear of such drastic actions unless its 100% necessary. We'll be getting plenty of attention from the various powergroups. but lets not draw more than we want." She said. "As for guests, theres no rule against it as long as they behave and dont cause trouble, unless they want their butts to meet an angry arrancar's boot. There are guest rooms, but keep in mind they need to be kept out of restricted areas. Such as the dropship hanger. She didn't mention it though, because she still hadn't gotten the Edge up and running yet and didn't want to spoil the surprise. | |

| Yuri nodded, a bit surprised that while she disapproved of torture, it would be tolerated, but only as a last resort. "Fair enough. They're usually pretty good at following other people's orders when under their roofs. But don't hesitate to let their butts meet the arrancar's boot if they become too disruptive or anything...so long as the butt is the only place the boot makes contact with. Pleasure to be doing business with you, Gaige Ashe." Yuri held out his hand for a handshake, to seal the deal. He is now the investigative arm of the Mercenary's Guild...to make sure any breaches in conduct was done or not.
