Attack on Amesbury (Mini arc part 1)

Some time after Amarius is defeated. Amesbury Library.

A calm dark held over the magical library in Amesbury, where one of the largest werewolf packs in the world called home. Little did they expect, a group of highly trained gunmen were encroaching on thier territory from down wind, well away of were capabilities. His hunters stuck to the shadows, keeping silent, but the mountain walked straight towards the building in the middle of the street.

The man stood 8ft tall and weighed close to 441lbs, mostly muscle. He wore heavy plate armor engraved with silver markings. A 6 foot sword across his back and a grenade launch in one hand. He stopped 10 feet from the door of the library, and spoke into a head set. "Cinder, is your team in position?" he said. The voice of his right hand woman came back through the headset. "Yes sir."

The mountain raised a hand, and ordered his own group of gunmen into position. "Plant the breach charges. Lets wake up the wolves and give Cinder's team time to plant the bomb." He said. Charges were set on the door and he gave the order. The blast was enough to blow them off thier hinges and down the hall. The mountain fired two grenades down after it, where one werewolf had been standing guard. He was blasted by the silver laced frag and severely wounded.

The mountain lumbered into the building as chaos broke out. A pair of werewolves lunged at one of his men. The mountain caught the second by the arm and swung him into a wall, as his men dealt with the other. He moved farther in, the sound of gun fire radiating into the night.

Angel stood in their command center. Whoever these people were, they were smart. But apparently didn't think that they'd have patrols stalking them and gave them word. All of the books and children and those that weren't battle capable were being moved. The books moval was automated. Two groups. She had placed a good number of guards where the largest of the men were at. But had since pulled them back after realizing that they were well prepared for wolves.

On the other side, she had made use of a recent addition. A convert from another pack. They could create phantoms via assitance of light and electricity. An extreme. They were gaining information on them first now. It's been ten minutes now, though."Alright, time to get things moving. Connor, be careful. Stay close to Yuri and Tyson. Mary, Alphonse, Edward, and Xina, attack them from behind."

She looked at the other group, the one with the woman and something big. She started to type in commands. One seperated a group, and sprinklers activated. But instead of water, it was pure hydrocloric acid. And methane gas was also pumping into that room. Other traps were being activated on that side, as well as moving halls and sections around.

Yuri had a normal grenade in his hand. Waiting for the opportunity to pull the pin and throw it. He and his two compatriots were around a corner, the halls dark, but certainly not unseeable, even for a normal human. He felt the intent. And he didn't like it. Yuri was dressed in a tank top with a T-shirt over it and sweatpants. He also had on traditional, chinese shoes.

They were close enough. Popping the pin, he threw it. The grenade bounced off the wall towards the giant of a man. It exploded just a mere three feet from the guy. From out of the smoke came Yuri's Heaven's Gate sword, only for it, and him, to back off as hairs with golden tips were fired around the silverette. Those hairs exploded on contact.

Then came the Rune Blade in an upward, diagonal strike and an overhead chop from Heaven's Gate. Connor kept firing those exploding hairs around Yuri, and hopefully around the giant of a man that puts even most weres to shame. Tyson was above them and had grabbed several men from above, latching onto the cieling and extending his limbs to promptly snap their necks.

From behind them, one man had exploded to reveal a werewolf that shrunk down to miniscule levels, buried inside him, and promptly grew back to normal size. Only to shrink down again as icecicles were thrown at them. Along with blood bullets. And cutting winds.

The Mountain:

The acid pouring from the ceiling was a problem, but so was the gas. Cinder ordered gas masks on and told the men to take cover in the alcoves and she did to.  She followed the pipe running the cieling then found a good spot away from them and shot it open. The acid stopped raining down from above but it was leaking out onto the floor. Atleast they were safe here for now. The gas wasn't a problem with gas masks.

Scare started arming the bomb. It would take a while to set up but once it was armed and ready it would take the entire library out, and probably anyone within the area with it. they'd be well away by then. Cinder waited. As the strongest here she could hold most of the weres back easily, but none came this way. they were all targeting the Mountain apparently. They probably didn't know what was about to happen. The Mountain drew his massive greatsword, a blood soaked blade that any werewolf would easily identify as a weapon thats killed allot of them. It would be surprising if atleast some didn't fear it. Swinging it in a powerful arc that left a hole in a wall that was to close it cleaved the legs from a stray werewolf.

The Mountain seen the grenade and ignored it, it went off 3 feet from him but reflected harmlessly off his armor. In response he fired another granade at the place it had been thrown from. There were a good few werewolves around now. "Lucius, Pop the smoke." He ordered through his microphone as he parried a sword. As ordered, Lucius threw in a hand full of smoke granades laced with silver dust. If inhaled by the wolves it would cause them allot of pain.

gold hairs scattered off his armor harmlessly. Another sword came at him, the mountain blocked it with his greatsword and pushed back at the man with enough force to send him stumbling, then brought his great blade down towards the sword weilding werewolf. Even if it missed it would explode a crator in the floor between them.

The golden hairs were doing some damage, killing one of the lesser skilled soldiers. Others were retreating to cover. The were on the roof and the one who kept changing his size were pests. The Mountain spun and fired a grenade between them, hopefully lacing them with silver and giving his men time to gun them down.

"Cinder, status?" He asked as he turned back to yuri's group. "We're recieving small resistance here. Some traps were activated, but its been dealt with. Scare's arming the weapon now Sir" Good. The wolves seemed to be concentrating on them. "Retreat and prepare to cover us soon as your done. We'll need assitance withdrawing."

The mountain decided it was time to stop the golden hairs. He charged towards the two werewolves sword swinging in an attempt to bash the closest one away. If he did he would continue on to the wolf behind, the ground trembling as he bore down on the wolf to crush him. Meanwhile Lucius directed his men into a coherent circle of protection, swords and guns firing out at the attacking Werewolves.

Angel grinned. The gas wasn't poisonous per se. It's main purpose in that sealed off section...was to roast intruders alive. With a simple press, a spark flared, causing a rush of flames that even went into the crevases. If they were ill equiped, they really wouldn't be in good shape when she and her entourage arrives. Especially since the acid was for one of them. "Lilly, Elijah, Jan. Let's go."

When they left, others took their place.

Yuri ducked beneath the grenade. He knew Connor saw it coming and wasn't too worried. Despite the boy's coughing and weezing after the blast, he still provided mild support. Someone yelled. Edward. "Those grenades are laced with silver!" That's why Connor was coughing and weezing. Smoke went off, but it was useless as long as Edward was there. Wind manipulation through his lungs.

The smoke was condensing and entrenched into certain areas until the vents went off, sucking the stuff out of there. Meanwhile, Yuri had to dodge an overhead blow. He pinned both swords down all the way to the hilts against the large blade. That wasn't all. Twenty holy swords did the same, each moved quickly thanks to a shine spell. In front of Yuri, a white magic circle appeared, firing a Judgement spell, which was as fast and strong as a gran rey cero.

Tyson stretched away from the grenade, but still got a few shards in him. Alphonse was completely able to avoid it. Mary focused on extreme temperature control, decreasing it rapidly in their area. Xina used her blood manipulation to block and attack at once.

Yuri fired off a cutting edge of holy energy as well as a dozen shine spells, each as fast and strong as bala. If the man managed to get his sword back and start to attack him again, Yuri would avoid the sword swing and back off. Activating a spell. Dozens of lightning strikes, each 70% the power of a cero, lashed out from yellow magic circles.

The silverette grinned when the men went in a circle. From the center of that defensive formation, a brown magic circle appeared and fired off a huge sword formed earth spike. But it didn't touch them. Until it exploded for ten yards before four more showed up in a random direction. That had to have done a number on them.

"Back off! I'll handle it from here! Wolves aren't the only things to be worried about!" Yuri started pelting the men behind the giant with Shine spells and he still engaged him.

The sections were opened up, but the acid pooling at their feet didn't go anywhere. Plus, a heavy mist started to surround the survivors from the inferno, making it difficult to even see past ten feet. Sensing wouldn't work either as all they would sense is a single person completely surrounding them. A very loud howl that would shatter normal people's ear drums echoed throughout the room. It was a sound wave. Strangely, the mist didn't even budge. The sound wave would effect motor skills heavily.

The acid was also condensing, and seemed to be getting even stronger. Evidenced when one blob hit someone in front of Cinder...and left nothing but a skeleton and teeth fillings behind.

From below, what looked like muscle fiber were coming from the cracks, aiming to disarm the team...

The silver haired one pinned his sword, and the mountain realised he was a Magician, The man then fired a spell practically point blank and would find the mountain tanking through it, a hand grabbing him by the collar. He pulled him forward than threw him back towards the werewolf behind him. If the strength of the mountain wasn't alarming, the fact that he didn't appear to be affected by that powerful attack probably would be. The mountain turned back to his sword and ripped it from the ground with so much force two of the magic blades snapped and the ground was left with a massive rent.

Shine spells bounced off his armor as he cut downwards against a blade of energy. He instinctively put his side towards the lightning bolts, allowing most to miss him harmlessly. There were some screams behind him as something happened in his group. He turned to deflect some spikes and find two of his men dead, another wounded. Lucius had managed to avoid the attacks. "Fall back to the streets. I will deal with this." He ordered.

The mountain turned back to the spell caster. "I should have expected you to be here. Amarius warned me there might be a wolf lover in the library.. Are you ready to die, little man?" He said, raising his sword he dashed forward and swung the blade, he let the charge carry through to the end of the hall, plowing through anything in his path. The man continued to attack his men as they fell back until Lucius blocked the hallway with a pitch black barrier of metal. The shine spells hit with no effect.

Cinder smiled to herself. "Hmm... it seems the mutts have arrived. Ready weapons. No living thing gets past this point." Readying her own Terra Rifle, Cinder crouched low into cover and aimed carefully. She stopped breathing for a moment in order to listen for activity. Above the hissing sound of the gas, she heard a gentle crackle of an electrical spark. What happened next was complete instinct. The spark started a catalytic reaction through the leaking gas, sending a expanding fireball hurtling towards the group at breakneck speed. Cinder quickly stood up in front of the group and, putting up both hands in front of her, manipulated the fiery inferno into a large ball. She compressed the ball smaller and smaller until it was the size of a soccer ball. "Get down!" she yelled to the group. Cinder saw movement in the corridor ahead and launched the super-compressed fire orb down towards the movement. It traveled roughly 40ft down the corridor before decompressing violently, exploding outwards with the physical force of a cero Oscuros. The corridor ceiling(from about 20ft in front of Cinder onwards) collapsed from the force of the explosion.

Cinder rolled back into cover and raised her gun before taking inventory. That particular feat had taken a lot out of her. She looked around at the rest of her contingent. Scare had taken the initiative and erected one of his barriers to protect himself. 2 of the grouop had taken cover while the third was a little too late. He was toasting slowly on the ground, screaming in pain. His legs were charred off. "Help me please!" he cried weakly. Cinder took one look at him and fired her gun, ending the man's pain with a bullet to the brain. Cinder then aimed back down the corridor. Come on, she thought, let's move this along already.

To make things worse, Cinder heard a scream that was then drowned out by an uncomfortable sizzling noise as a liquid blob dropped out of the ceiling and dissolved a man just in front of her. She tried to trace the liquid's source and proceeded to fire a blast of fire at it, which would evaporate it. Just then, tendrils comprised of a strange, sinewy substance emerged from the floor, attempting to disarm the team. The remaining soldiers proceeded to withdraw their swords and cut at the tendrils. Cinder Engulfed herself in fire, burning any of the tendrils that came at her. She then aimed at the apparent source of the substance and fired a Fire Blaster at it.

Yuri was a little stunned as he got off of Connor, letting the boy leave. And desummoned his swords when the man had the brute strength to pull his own out. Yuri was actually nervious now. To be able to break energy swords like that? Yikes! But he should have charged and finished him off...that will be his undoing.

His brow furrowed when the man mentioned Amarius. If these guys knew about him, and actually had contact...Shit! Yuri gritted his teeth at the realization. This could be a distraction...he knew Kai wouldn't leave this alone. The silverette jumped and curled into a ball over the guy and behind him. He did three spells. The first was an Eruption spell just behind the black barrier, firing a piller of fire equal to a cero at the guy's men. The second spell was also aimed at the guy's men. A blue magic circle appeared to the side of their escape route, firing out an ice blade that would stay there. It was low to the ground, hoping to cut off some legs just below the knee.

The third spells was another holy spell. A high powered, armor piercing one. From his palm and the white magic circle came the energy beam, aiming for the man's left leg, right behind the knee. Following after the giant, he fired a holy slash, a cutting beam of holy energy. He really wished he brought his pistol with him...that armor was a nuisence...

The one of the doors never opened up, but was blown to peices with excessive force. Two more holes from the fire woman. Angel knew this wasn't going to be good. Lilly manipulated her high powered acid at the men's arms and legs, while Elijah continued to make new muscle fiber to not only aim for their weapons, but also them. That blast from the fire woman took his right leg, but it was slowly healing. Still, that will slow him down a lot on both supporting the team and any get away.

Jan and Angel ambushed two occupied soldiers, promptly tearing off their heads immediately. Slowly and meticulously, they chose their targets, staying well away from the fire woman...

The mage jumped over the Mountain. He was big, and slow, but he was no fool. He spun mid charge, which resulted in him sliding backwards and slashed at the mage while he was still in range. The mage fired a beam of holy energy at him and the mountain brought his great blade down on the attack, destroying it with the blade. Ignoring any excess energy that actually hit him he took a second to put a new grenade in his launcher and fire it at Yuri. It was a big bang grenade, that went off with the force of a gran rey. The mountain stepped back a few feet to avoid getting caught in the blast too.

Meanwhile Lucius was dealing with the rest of the men. A blast of fire went off beneath his metal shield and torched one of his men, while the others made their way out of the building. Lucius ran after him only to have his legs sliced clean off. The man fell on the floor and melted into black iron. "Boss my drone is down." He said over the headset to the Mountain. "Thats fine, almost time to come get us anyway." The Mountain replied.

Cinder cursed as the smoke cleared and two more of her men were lying on the floor, heads gone, sinewy substance releasing the headless corpses. The one remaining soldier was still hacking away at the restricting substance that was assailing him. Then she saw the shapes loom up behind him. "Ramirez! Get down! Now!" Ramirez dropped down on his knees as Cinder blazed over him and fired Focused Fire shots at the attackers, burning holes straight through whatever they hit. Then she punched Ramirez away from her and the attackers, towards the bomb. Cinder was already Engulfed, so she sent out a Fire Pulse, an orb that extended outwards from her to 30 ft, dealing a cero of fire damage to anything caught in it.

Cinder heard Scare's voice over her earpiece, "Bomb deployed and armed." She smiled hoisting Ramirez to his feet. "Grand job. Fall back then." Cinder ran after the others, switching the channels in her earpiece. "Sir, we're done here." She continued running for the extraction point.

Yuri made a holy disc to do a short hop to avoid the sword swing and continue his thing. It seemed once the guy gets going, it's tough for him to stop. The man fired a grenade at him. Yuri made a motion akin to opening/closing a shower curtain, creating a barrier. He also created a Holy Portal underneath him, allowing him to go through. The barrier shattered at the explosion, but the force of it, and fire, still came through the portal.

The mage did dual chops with his Heaven's Gate and Rune Blade swords at the guy's shoulders, and quickly backflipped away from the excess power from the man's earlier grenade. He surrounded the man with Shine Spells, and fired them. Hidden among them, were 300 needles made of his energy that would do a gran rey's worth of damage, and attack his control over his spiritual pressure. Though the odds of that part working were nill, because of that armor.

It was more to find any chinks in it.

The holy user ran at him, the holy sword glowing. He threw his Rune Blade at the man. Except it would pass harmlessly just to the side of his head. Yuri had blurred past him and caught his sword, doing a spin attack. First hitting with an enhanced powered strike with his Heaven's Gate, then with the Rune blade. Backing off, he fired another Eruption spell, with five shine spells.

The dual women had to back off from attacking another one of them thanks to the fire woman. Jan let out a sound wave howl, one that was semi-visible from bending light, even in the thick fog, that would cause some dizzyness. They let her and the survivors go. "Get Connor and Mary here. Lilly, do what you can with that bomb. Take it to the training rooms! I want status reports!"

Elijah crawled out of the hole. Lilly starting using her acid on the casing to remove it. A beep noise was made, and before Angel could react, muscle fiber surrounded her, as did acid and ice...

Yuri heard the boom and he wasn't sticking around, blasting holes, he got the hell out of there. And prayed. When he looked back at the building, a good two thirds of it was gone. In horror, he started looking for survivors...

Tyson, Alphonse, and Edward saw the explosion and went to it. Until they smelled the giant man. Then they hid, and waited for the opportunity to ambush and hopefully kill him...

The mountain blocked the duel chop easily and pushed back against Yuri. As he was surrounded by holy energy blasts, all that scorched against his armor pretty harmlessly except a few pin pricks that somehow found a way through, Cinder's voice came in over the radio. The mountain grunted. The man ran at him and missed with a sword throw, the mountain turned and he was infront of him as he did. He swung his sword towards the man as he attacked, countering his attacks with a sweeping blade. The mountain walked through the fire like it was nothing and aimed one last sword swipe as more attacks hit, then he headed for the door. That was about the time the bomb went off.

A few seconds later he was climbing out from under rubble, as if there wasn't an explosion. Half of his helmet was missing revealing his face partially. He'd lost his grenade launcher in the blast, but it could be replaced. "Lucius bring in the dropship. Cinder, please tell me your alive and at the rendezvous point." He said as he smashed some rubble from his path, walking calmly towards the exit of the building. well, what was left.

As he reached the door, a group of wolves attacked. He recognized them from before. The first lunged for his throat and the mountain batted him aside like a fly, the crack of multiple bones could be heard as the thing was sent rag dolling away into a heap. He swung his sword around to chop down but the blade was knocked aside by the stretchy wolf. The mountain swung back at him. A third attacked from behind, only for the mountain to react unconsciously. He caught the wolf by the face with his free hand and lifted him off the ground. He slowly crushed the were's skull in his hand, and then tossed the corpse towards stretchy wolf, who lay bleeding with his gut cut open. The mountain turned and stalked out of the building, as the hum of a drop ship sounded and his ride flew into the square. He climbed in silently.

Cinder heard the howl and looked over her shoulder to see several figures hunched over the bomb. Crap, she thought, they're going to set it off early. Cinder Alieta raced faster through the corridors and back outside to the extraction point. Scare and Ramirez boarded the drop-ship hurriedly, Cinder right behind them. She was momentarily puzzled as to why their was no pursuit, but then she saw the Mountain fighting inside the building. Then, there was a massive explosion as the bomb went off prematurely. Fire and sound enveloped the building, reducing the vast majority of it into rubble.

Cinder was not worried. Even as Scare and Lucius exclaimed loudly, Cinder knew that the Mountain was fine. It'll take more than that to keep him down. she thought, smiling inwardly. Sure enough, they heard the sound of rubble being shoved aside as the Mountain hoisted himself out of his stone tomb and started towards the drop-ship. Suddenly he was assailed by three werewolves as he tried to exit the remains of the building. Cinder gasped and began to lay down a barrage of suppressing gunfire. The drop-ship crew then watched in awe as the Mountain gashed one of the werewolves across the midsection, exposing his innards, and then grabbed another one by the head and crushed its skull. Scare let out a low whistle, "Woah, remind me never to piss that guy off."

The Mountain approached the drop-ship and boarded. Cinder looked his battle-damaged helmet. "The bomb detonated early, sir. Those idiots were tampering with it. One even started pouring acid on it in an attempt to get inside. But in any case, mission complete, sir. What's the plan now?" The drop-ship took off and headed for an undisclosed location.

*At the Undisclosed Location, three hours later*

Two people awaited the dropship's arrival, their own plane on stand-by. They and the leaders of this Hunter group had a common friend. So far, they've only seen the blue haired woman with two pistols always strapped to her thighs. The man looked barely sixteen years old, with jet black hair and fairly soft features. He wore all black. What set him apart were bright cyan eyes that eerily mirrored that of the albino the huge man had fought. When they arrived the woman approached the survivors.

"Casualties were higher than expected. But it seems it went all right. You'll have your payment within just a few minutes. We'll also cover any funeral costs for your men, should you have them. They do have some bomb experts, but the way you rigged that was marvelous. Good luck with the Hunter's Association meeting in two weeks." With that, she sauntered off to the plane.

Before the boy followed, he spoke up to them. "Better sleep with one eye open. They have a mage that's a part of their pack...he's very high ranking in it. He's an expert in a great many things, including finding people that don't want to be found, and promptly executing them. We'll contact you when we get our mutual friend out." He then walked off.

About an hour after the plane took off, he was alone in the craft, except for the pilot. The woman had jumped with a parachute, to do her job of rescuing their mutual friend. He didn't need one for his jump. He looked outside the plane, at the ruins of Cairo that was slowly being built up. His target was a mercenary mage that had helped captured Amarius. He knew she was gonna be a pain in the ass.

He jumped. Ready to kill her if all possible...
