The Sorcorers and the Werewolf...and another Werewolf

Germany...the last stop before Yuri and his compatriot Connor heads back to Amesbury. Unfortunately, it was also awfully close to the full moon, so Connor was a bit moody and on edge. Yuri, in a simple sports jacket, two layers of shirts, jeans and sneakers with his real look, had found an abandoned factory.

What the two of them didn't expect was to find a satanic ritual involving another werewolf. The guy was huge...he didn't know how they got the jump on him. What was worse, Connor had said a team of Coalition members were nearby...along with a certain other silverette that the two despised.

Yuri waited in the rafters while Connor did some more scouting. He watched with agony as the idiots below him tortured the wolf. Connor had been shocked, and even nervious when he mentioned the wolf...Yuri didn't know why, but they had an unpaid mission to do now...

(Is kai the silverette? If not I'll correct this post. Also I couldn't pass this up...XD)

Following discovery of the dark rumours spreading through out Germany, the coalition appeared to investigate. A small team, headed by the leader of the coalition Kai Allard Liao. But he wasn't the sole high ranking member. Alistair had tagged along strictly because werewolves were mentioned. Yes he had magic, but he wasn't as interested in the affairs of spell casters as he was druids and werewolves, despite being out of both those scenes for a couple hundred years. As soon as they'd arrived though, he'd gone his own way. He would serve better if he was alone when tracking, he didn't need foot soldiers getting in the way and making noise. That and it was close to the full moon, and naturally he was a little testy with humans.

He did manage to catch the scent of another werewolf soon after setting out, and followed it to a warehouse in a secluded part of the city. As he got closer though, he realised there were two of them here. One was inside, the other he wasn't so sure about. Alistair could also smell humans. Allot of them. He decided to move in for a closer look. The the wolf who wasn't inside would know he was here soon enough, He couldn't hide from that. But the humans wouldn't know. He reported in to Kai before doing anything besides getting closer.

Yuri waited for Connor to join him. When he did...something was up with the lad, as he was lightly hysterical. "There's another wolf around. An alpha. The one below is definitely a beta. There are a lot of humans around...both advent and spellcastors, plus the Coalition with Kai at the head-" The silverrette mercenary slapped the boy. Thankfully, the chants below stopped them from hearing the echo. Connor clutched his cheek.

"When Kai makes his move, we'll save the wolf. Then we'll bug out of here. Hopefully before the party crashers show up." Yuri knew about werewolf mechanics. Hell, he himself is considered a beta to Angel's pack. That's probably why the brunette next to him wasn't high-tailing it out of there. Now they waited...though the alpha was a wild card...

Kai got the message. Two wolves and a lot of humans. One was travelling around though...possibly part of the pack that was destroyed here? No...Yuri was here. The man responded. "Try to find him and talk to him. See why he's here. If not, we'll be attacking momentarily. When you see the opportunity...well, you know what to do. Be careful...I sense a spellcastor by the name of Yuri Romanov. He's powerful, and a wild card. The wolf is probably with him...good luck."

Kai ended the transmission. And led the charge...

Yuri and Connor both heard gunshots outside. They were started. But Yuri also saw the other wolf Connor spoke about...and sensed the intent to kill from behind him. The silverette fired his gun, killing the bastard. That got their attention. Jumping down, he unleashed a trio of spells. Lightning Storm, Lucky Star Barrage, and Seikon Todomoe. With four of the holy energy swords cutting the bound wolf's shackles to the point of barely cutting the guy...but no long having silver chains on him made him happier.

And said werewolf went berserk on the poor mofoes as Yuri yelled his warning. "These guys have invisibility spells! Even their scents and internal sounds are masked!" Yuri and Connor got to work, assisting the raging beast...and in perfect unison. The other wolf...Yuri didn't care about...but backed him up as well when possible...

Alistair got closer as Kai spoke. He found a small peek hole and got a look inside the building. A group of humans held down what could only be the warewolf he could smell in there. The other wasn't in sight. The sight pissed him off. Alistair kicked in the door, his arms partially transforming as he shouted at the humans. "Why not try beating on a standing opponant!" He let his predator aura out fully, causing them to recoil from him. And then back up dropped in from above in the form of another human with a werewolf. There was no doubt this was yuri then, and who was the wolf, he wondered as he ripped the closest man's face off with a swipe of one arm.

The wolf was freed by the silver haired spell caster, and he instantly went berserk. Alistair didn't want to but he might have to try assert some dominance over the wolf to calm him down if it got out of hand. But right then he let the wolf be to get some revenge, as he heard the warning about invisible enemies.. He waited, prepared to strike. A blade stabbed into his back, but before it got deep he'd started to turn. He moved much faster than the attacker, and caught his invisible foe by the arm before he could retreat. And then with little effort he twisted, pinned and ripped the man's arm off. He then pegged that arm  hard at an invisible force that attempted to pick up the silver chains on the floor, and lunged after. he heard the thud and approximated where the man's chest might be, and lanced a fist forward. He was close enough, as steel like fingers punched into the invisible man's lower gut, turning him visible.  He tossed him away like a ragdoll and waited, daring another to strike.

The other wolf got stabbed just as Yuri flung a holy sword to stab a guy in the face that was about to stab Connor, then said werewolf took the sword and slashed another guy. The alpha werewolf handled his assailant however...still. Yuri started to focus more on other foes, only really attacking when someone had the balls to, which seemed to be an awful lot seeing as he wasn't a humanoid wolf. He started shooting his gun at seemingly nothing...only for there to be a blood splatter and a dead spellcastor.

He finished off any invisible opponents as he used his surrounding holy energy swords for defense, support, and attack. The idiots around him didn't bother with them after the first few got their hands burned to hell from touching them. Suddenly, several gunshot rang out, as a few more dropped dead.

Yuri stopped, as did Connor. The Beta wolf stopped briefly, only to finish decapitating the man he had in his hands. Then he stopped. As expected...Kai was there...sword dripping with blood and his little task force. "Surrender peacefully, and you will only waste most of your life in jail. Resist, all of your life in jail-"

"Or die mercilessly and brutally by a trio of monsters and me. Your choice." Yuri decided to be a bit cheeky and added a huge and playful grin. The Beta Wolf seemed to have liked that option as he growled in agreement.

"Not helping."

"Wasn't trying to."

"Clearly."

The remaining group backed off and regrouped, seemingly discussing their options. In the end, they dropped their weapons and held their arms up. Kai sent his troops to arrest them. The beta wolf took a few steps forward and growled, only to have Yuri put a hand on his arm. The creature snarled at him. The smaller man held his gaze. "Real justice is being done here. I doubt any deal they make will allow them to not get life in prison...but they'll suffer for what they've done to your pack. Death won't do that. Besides...Kai is waaayyy more powerful than the three of us combined." The wolf looked down dejectedly. He sat on his haunches and howled, mourning his pack. Yuri shared a sympathetic look...but didn't interfere.

Connor on the other hand...was still pretty much hiding behind Yuri's back, now turned back into his human state with his jeans barely on his hips. The mercenary stared at the other wolf in curiosity.

"He's with me. I'll let him explain if he desires. And handle the other wolf if necessary. I haven't given him the file yet...when I return, I certainly will so that the bullshit that happened to you two will never happen again. We've been...awfully busy." The Coalition leader left to search the rest of the building with the others.

Yuri frowned and crossed his arms to glare at the wolf. "I would love to hear that story." The silver haired mercenary dragged Connor out from behind him and hugged him, calming down the boy almost immediately. But maintained his glare.

Kai arrived with reinforcements, and the enemy gave up. Alistair stayed quiet during the pair's banter. He concentrated on the were who'd lost his pack, though the other was of slight interest to him. they weren't from the same pack, by the looks of things. Yuri and his wolf watched Alistair, while the other one began to howl mournfully. Kai explained briefly who alistair was, then went to search the building, leaving him to explain things.

Alistair moved in slowly towards the now loner wolf, and went down to his level. His eye's flashed red momentarily, to show he was alpha. Then he put a hand on the other were's shoulder. "I'm sorry about your pack.. I know what its like to loose family. I can help heal your wounds if you want." He waited for the wolf's answer then looked to Yuri who wanted to know his story.

"I'm Alistair Duine, Lone Were Alpha born in Ireland, created in scandenavia and lived in canada/america most of my two thousand years." Alistair told him. "Is there anything specific you'd like to know? And who is the young wolf with you?"

The wolf turned back into a human. Making him much more...manageable now that he was only six and a half feet tall instead of close to nine. Still very board shouldered and practically a muscle builder. He accepted the clothes Eben gave him, and looked at Yuri and the young adult in his arms after hearing Alistair's offer.

Yuri merely shrugged. "We're with the Norman Pack. The one that runs the Amesbury Magical Library. We were heading home from a mission and don't plan on finishing our trip until after the full moon. He's very moody around this time. And only really acting like this because of two majorly dominant werewolves here. You have until the end of the week to join us if you so choose. We helped for our own reasons...Kai had this planned. Do as you wish." The Wolf nodded and asked if he  could have some time alone. Or at least secluded.

The mercenary dragged Connor away to do just that. To a little corner that was being watched heavily by Eben and a couple of other Coalition guards. It was then he spoke to Mr. Duin. "I can't help but think you're lying about your age...but my Hyper Intuition says it's the truth...mind shedding some light on that, Connor?"

"Obi is almost five hundred years old...Damien is just shy of one thousand fifty...I don't think we have anyone over twelve, thirteen hundred years old...not after...well...yeah...Ziggy was a major upstart. But there is a reason most if not all rogues or loners are feared...they're often better fighters and very dominant. As Ziggy showed when he took over the pack when he discovered his line came from us and rejoined only to become Alpha soon after." The brunette practically tried merging his face into the side  and base of Yuri's neck.

"Well okay then. Connor is no one you need to concern yourself with. He's my charge. That is all you need to know...well, and that he already has a pack. I guess for starters, why join the Coalition? What division do you work in? Though I'm assuming the CDHC/D considering Kai mentioned our files..." Yuri spoke very defensively when he spoke about Connor. Almost as if he himself was a werewolf protecting one of his own. Which in a way, he was. But quickly switched to a more neutral expression on the rest.

Alistair nodded and he moved aside with yuri and the young wolf. He smirked when Yuri thought he might be lying. "I've no need to lie. I've been out of the loop so long I probably couldn't prove it anyway other than showing you something only Kai and Alexander Know I have." Alistair tried to restrict his predator aura and maybe make the young wolf feel a little better about his presense. He nodded as Connon spoke.

"Don't worry, I'm not out to interfere with your pack. I also wasn't out to create a new one, but I'd like to see if he's going to join you or not. If he decides to come with me I might rethink my plans. As for what happened here, I'll be trying to make sure it doesn't happen again. I may need your pack's help. I'd like to meet them sometime. Eitherway you've nothing to worry about from me."

He looked back to Yuri and smiled. "Its a wonder you're not a wolf already. Ah, yes. Its much easier to work under humans, than other werewolves. I couldn't join a pack, and I can't work alone. Not against the arrancar, or these sorcerers, or all the other threats to the beings of this world. Yeah, I'm the head of the CDHC/D."

The silverette snorted at the wolf comment. "When your childhood and best friend is a werewolf, finds their pack, and then rejoined said pack to become its alpha, you tend to gain a few little habits and even become a part of them without even meaning to. I may be human, but they're my family. I would never betray them...and they would never betray me...which is nice considering my line of work. Not all sorcorers are bad...even the supposed illegal ones...sometimes they use the worst magic to protect those they care about...but that wasn't exactly the bullshit Kai was talking about..." When he mentioned the illegal sorcorers, he glanced at Eben. "He is an interesting case. Between a completely different style with some of the current favorite style of using magic and his use of black magic really made an impression in the community..."

He let that sink in a little. "We're just as much a resident here as a normal human or werewolf. It's always the bad minority that gives the majority a bad name..."

Connor snickered a bit and spoke up. "You're just as much a part of that 'bad minority' as part of the majority, Yuri. You're a merc afterall..."

Yuri kinda looked away, as if to say, well...yeah. He went back on subject. "You wouldn't be very welcomed in Amesbury, even if you were just a normal loner. But you're the head of a division that...you know what, I want you to read the file before ever coming to Amesbury. I'd be shocked if you weren't at the very least warned off before you even reach the library. I would advise you not to go anywhere near there. I'm only really being civil with you because you weren't there and the fact I'm surrounded with four member of Kai's elite guard and he himself are here. Odds of me surviving after trying to kill you are not very good. And then there's Connor. The Coalition and us...don't mix. Doesn't mean I won't work with you, so long as my paycheck comes from a personal account and not the Coalition's. Also...make sure you maintain a certain level of worth throughout the entire mission...I'll let you use your imagination as to why..."

"Yuri...he isn't easily intimidated...especially from someone who can crossdress perfectly..." Kai walked up to them. Something was wrong...his face was dire. "All of you. Come. You too Eben." Even the Beta Wolf followed. After reaching a corridor...they went down. Yuri did not know what to expect...nor did everyone else with them...

Alistair shook his head. "Dont take offence but I'm to old for that kind of crap. Like us or not, we're on the same side. Doesn't mean we have to be all palsy, but we should atleast attempt to cooperate Unless you want to help arrancar destroy more cities across the world, and let sicko's like this continue to get away with killing whole werewolf packs. Trust me when I say this, the pain that comes with surviving the loss of your entire pack is something that can be very hard to come back from. I wouldn't wish it on anyone."

The beta wolf glanced at Alistair as he finished speaking, and when they started moving, the beta walked behind Alistair rather than Yuri. Alistair knew what that ment, but he didn't know if it was a good thing. He was a little out of practice, he didn't know if he should be leading a pack again. At the very least if the Beta wanted to he could stay with Alistair until they found him a new pack. if Alistair was lucky, he'd go straight to the amsbury pack.

Alistair increased his pace so he was next to  Kai. "What did you find back here? Any good news? I'm guessing not, this place doesn't scream good news. It stinks of death strong enough that you can probably smell it."

Yuri shrugged, though he was slightly amused that he thought arrancar destroyed Chicago. "Just this once, we're on the same side. I detest these sickos as much as you do, so if we're involved in another case like this, we'll be on the same side...but that won't be the case every time...isn't that right, Kai?"

"I dread the day any member of the Coalition tangles with you. But enough of this crap, we have a job to do. You'll see what I mean soon enough..." Kai was not amused with this situation. He opened the doors to reveal hundreds of dead sorcorers with a black magic circle behind them on their left and right walls. In the center of the room was another circle, and directly in front of them there was another. "Recognize them, Yuri?"

The said mercenary actually whimpered and shivered. This made Kai, Caleb, Eben and the other two members of Kai's personal guard look at him strangely. "Yeah, you know it's bad when I start making wierd noises and shiver like that...this room is something my brother would make...but I only recognize the center circle...that's a spell to shroud an area in complete darkness so only the user and those with exceptional night vision, like a were, can fight properly. My Hyper Intuition was beat into me with the help of that spell..." He only stopped to look back at Connor, who was crying. "Go hunt a deer or something...this isn't a place for those just coming of age..." The boy nodded and practically ran out, transforming.

Yuri went to the center, and spun slowly around, looking at everything. He summoned his Heaven's Gate sword, just in case. The spells behind the men and women were pulsating. Even Kai drew his katana. "Leave us." Caleb and the other three sorcorers left as well. "Think it's a summoning? Like what the Sisters of the Light attempted?"

"I don't think so..." Yuri started to film the room with his cell phone. Turning it off afterwards, he walked towards the opposite wall. It just...didn't make any sense to him either. Why go through so much effort? And what were they trying to accomplish?

Before Yuri even had time to move, a hand shot out of the wall, grabbing his throat and choking him. The wall disappeared to show an exceptionally tall and muscular man. "So this is the famous Yuri Romanov, younger brother of Alexei Romanov, the pioneer of dark magic...how interesting. And the Coalition as well? Shame you're too late...stage two is already complete..."

After throwing Yuri all the way to the opposite wall, the man disappeared, as did the magic circles, leaving one hell of a menacing laugh. As the albino was in a coughing fit, Kai spoke up. "Amarius...I've only heard of legends...and stage two? Alistair, sniff around in there, see if you can't get a trail! Yuri, you stay here and back him up. I'm gonna go get in contact with the Board. Whatever is going on, we need to put a stop to it ASAP. Mr. Wolf, sorry to force a decision so soon, but we need it so we know whether or not to make use of you..."

"No way man! I didn't even get a warning bell! Contact me when you've found the guy or group or whatever! I'm taking my charge out of here and back home..." The silverrette got up, only for Kai to point his sword at him. "Make your choice...kill me and risk a pack comprised of hundreds of members striking...or let me leave to make use of me later if necessary..."

Kai clenched his teeth. But lowered his blade anyway and allowed Yuri to leave...

Alistair felt the betas fear as they entered the room. The young connor had a similar reaction. He left pretty quickly but the beta made no attempt to leave. Alistair's eyes glowed red as his alpha aura activated and helped the wolf relax a bit. Their reaction wasn't unexpected, the shear amount of death in this room would affect all except the most deranged animal.

The addition of dark magic didn't help matters, and even the ballsy merc was put off. "This is not a nice place... " He said, as a red circle formed at his feet. Alistair bit his thumb and let the blood drip to the floor. A red spear rose from the ground and he caught it. They moved forward.

Yuri approached the back wall to examine it. Alistair kept a bit of distance, the beta with him. An arm shot out of the wall and grabbed yuri, then the wall vanished revealing a death soaked stranger. His appearance sparked a reaction in the beta who started to shift as he charged forward, a horrific half howl half scream of "you!" as he went. Alistair caught the beta by the scruff of the neck and yanked him back. Their eyes met, alistairs a furious red.

"Stop." he said, and the beta ceased his struggles. He turned back and put his head down, backing away from alistair in a show of subservience. Alistair stepped between him and the stranger as the man spoke, incase he decided to try attacking the beta. But when the man finished speaking of phase two, he tossed the merc and vanished.

Alistair looked at Kai. "That name is not unfamiliar, but well before my time too.. We should be careful." When Kai asked the beta if he would help, the looked beta at the alpha. Alistair almost sighed. Almost. "Answer him..." The beta looked back to Kai. "I will aid the alpha, not you." Alistair sighed. Well, it was the best Kai could probably expect.

Kai nodded at the wolf. "Very well. *turns to Alistair* Be careful investigating that room. I'll send Caleb and Eben down for back up should you need it. Give me a report as soon as you're done." He went outside and contacted the Board of Magical Affairs, and told them of the situation. Once he was done, he sought out Yuri. He found him quickly enough in a field, with his charge, curled up in his wolf form, at his side. The mercenary seemed to have read his mind...or at least part of it...

"I don't know. I wasn't born into some rich family and went to a wonderful magical academy like you did, Kai. I learned magic on the streets and on the fly. I have no clue who Amarius is or if there's some connection between him and my brother's projects..."

"I didn't expect you to know about Amarius from records...but I would've thought you've heard of something on the streets. He was a premier dark sorcorer over two thousand years ago. He was sealed in a pocket dimension at the cost of over half of the world's mages at the time. From what I remember, while he wasn't a holder of the Devil's Sunrise, he was still a pioneer of dark magic for his time...much like your brother was before we took him out. And, in a way, how you're a pioneer in holy magic. I'll keep in touch when we find out more information on the situation. I'll make sure Angel knows, even hire her as well."

"Just keep your wolf out of Amesbury. I have a feeling this is gonna get messy. I'll see what I can do to bring some extra firepower. If you need to get Annabell, go ahead. Later." The silverette started to leave with his charge.

Kai sighed heavily as he watched him go. "I've never seen Yuri like this before. Found anything?" Kai looked back.

(OOC: you can finish it up if you want...I don't imagine this lasting too much longer.)

Alistair nodded to Kai, and headed for the room, the beta on his heels. The alpha sniffed the air carefully before stepping into the room. He smelled no life within, but the mages before had concealed themselves perfectly from him. There could be more inside, but the beta didn't think of that as he passed alistair without thinking. Alistair growled as a knife materialised and his spear lanced out stabbing the attacker through the forearm. The beta reacted a little later and snatched the knife, stabbing it into his attacker's gut, the mage fell down dead, and alistair passed into the room.

"there could be more, be more careful." alistair said and the beta nodded, backing off a little. alistair sniffed around the room, and after a while no more attacks appeared to be coming. They moved deeper in. At the back of the room on a wooden pedestal lay a tome with withered black leather bindings. Alistair glanced it over before touching and instinctively recoiling from the touch of dark magic. He removed his jacket and wrapped the book in it, which barely dulled the effect, then handed it to the beta who was unaffected for some reason.

Alistair assumed it had something to do with his magic, and it would probably have the  same effect on kai or the other spell casters. "Lets find Kai." he said to his new charge who nodded. They left the room and walked in silence until they were outside, where Kai was waiting, organising counter measures against the threat at hand. "He doesn't come off as the type to be shaken so easily. as a matter of fact I have... Its some kind of dark magic tome. I tried picking it up and it didn't much like it. It only seems to respond to magic users though, so I wouldn't go touching it just in case. Show him."

The beta wolf unwrapped the book to show Kai the cover. In the light, Alistair noticed a dark silvery shimmer over the surface, the magic in effect. "What ever it is, it wasn't left there by mistake. Amarius didn't leave in that much of a hurry. He probably wanted us to find it. I suggest we don't open it until we know exactly whats inside."

Kai nodded in response to the Yuri bit. That was true enough. The guy may bitch and moan about situations, but he was never unnerved like this. Even against overwhelming odds. The silverrette gave the duo his full attention and looked at the tome. He could sense the dark energy. He agreed with his subordinate. "Agreed. Alex should be able to do something about it. If nothing else, we can send it to Amesbury...though I hope that doesn't take too long. Let's leave this depressing place..."

Kai started to leave. He was nervious about this situation. Alexei Romanov...Amarius...two of the world's strongest dark sorcerors...was Alexei really dead then? By their hand, he should have been...and by a stupid misunderstanding. Too many questions with too few answers. He really didn't like it. Worse comes to worse, he and Yuri would have to work together...
