| Alistair was dressed in a clean black suit, with a light greyshirt and red tie. His hair had been cut short, and his beard trimmed so that it was no longer a bushy mess. He'd been meaning to do this before, but now was as good as any time. He looked rather strange in such formal clothing, usually only wearing a simple shirt and jeans, but he had important business to attend to, in the form of a meeting with one or both of jun's parents, depending on how lucky he got.
He'd done some reading on them, and had a feeling that he had his work cut out for him. But it was worth it. If he could convince them to allow Jun to return to the front lines it would strengthen the coalition slightly. He knew something bad was going to happen, it was just a matter of time. The better manned his squad was to respond, the easier it would be to handle that danger. He knew Jun was young, but he had to much potential to waste sitting behind a desk.
The sooner his parents seen that, the better. It would give Jun a chance to grow in strength, probably allot faster than it currently allowed. And he would be in no more danger in Alistair's squad than he was sneaking off on missions now. Now to make them see that.
Alistair approached the front door of Jun's house and knocked. He'd told jun about his intentions previously, and sent a letter ahead to let his parents know. They'd seemingly agreed to meet, but hopefully it wouldn't end with them kicking the wolf out of the house. He waited for someone to answer. He just wished his alpha command worked on humans.

| Jun was horrified when he was told. But had wished the werewolf luck before leaving to Europe. Xena wasn't too happy with the letter, but decided to go through with it. Unfortunately, her husband was working...one of the bad things about being Chief of Police is that you don't often have free days. The woman was five foot eleven, with jaw length blond hair and blue-green eyes, though her left one was a cybernetic eye. The Cyber Eye 9000 more specifically. She had a healthy glow to her, but looked pissed off...despite her attempts at softening her features. She wore a standard woman's business suit, no skirts for her.
She had just set out some tea when the door knocked. Just in time. At least Mr. Duine was punctual. Xena went to the door and opened it, smiling...though her one eye showed some hostility and impatience. "Good afternoon. You must be Mr. Duine. I'm Xena Tomoshibi, Jun's mother. I'm afraid my husband wasn't able to come...one of the downsides of being Chief of Police in New York is the lack of free time." After holding out her hand to shake, she invited him in. "I had just set out some tea. Shall we?" She motioned towards the sofas.
Xena had pored him some tea as well as herself. "So...what does the Coalition wish to ask of us this time?" While her voice was light-hearted and even kind sounding...again, her one eye betrayed what she was really feeling. She was straight to the point.
It was no secret the Coalition had tried to recruit several Tomoshibis...most notably her two nieces and of course, her own son. But so far, only her son had joined them...and in one of the more action oriented divisions.

| Alistair gave a slight bow and greeted Xena with respect. "I am. Please call me Alistair if you wish, Ms Tomishibi." He shook her hand with care. "Ah, that is a pity, but work is work." Alistair said. He repressed any sign that her husband's absence pleased him it would be easier to convince one to go along with one idea. Infact, he had a feeling that convincing Jun's father would be easier, especially once his wife was on board with the idea. But she was going to be the hard part.
Alistair followed her in, smiling and nodding at the offer of tea. He could smell her annoyance, though anyone without that ability would surely see it in her body language and eye, regardless of the freindly smile. He sat accepted his tea and sat across from Xena, delaying only slightly so that she began to sit before he did. He didn't want to appear rude by just dropping into the sofa before her. He sipped his tea, not worried about poison for 2 reasons. One, he didn't expect a well renowned lawyer and wife of the chief of police to try poison him, (though crazier things happened every day in the world) and 2 because his saliva would nuetralize it. Ingesting poisons had never been a danger to him.
Xena didn't hesitate to bring up the subject at hand. Alistair looked thoughtful for a moment, choosing his words carefully, then spoke. "Its not the coalition that's asking, this is entirely my idea. I'm not sure if your aware of what I am, or was for that matter. So i'll explain briefly if not." If she was unaware of his past, which he doubted, he quickly explained that he'd been a Druid, which gave him a duty to protect the lands humans lived in. He then explained he became a werewolf and lost most of the privilages of being a druid, though kept some. He reasoned that he was in someway still a druid, and had strived to continue his work over the years.
Seeing as humans evolved allot to handle the worlds defense, he wasn't needed, and decided to take on the role of maintaining peace between were's and humans. Easier said than done, because they constantly killed each other regardless. His role shifted to a punisher, and killed those who committed crimes against the other. "It was only recently, that I realized the world was in more danger than its been in previous years. Something is going to happen. I don't know what, or when, but every ounce of my blood is screaming that it's going to be bad. That is why I came here today, to request that Jun be allowed to Transfer from R&S, to either the trooper squad, council of defense or more preferably, into the CDHCD, under my command. "
Alistair paused to allow what he'd asked her to sink in. He was prepared for any outbursts she might have planned. If she told him to continue, or said nothing, he would do so. "I understand what I'm asking. All of those positions come risks, none more than the CDHCD. However I've faught Jun. His potential to become one of the most powerful haman's alive is to much to waste sitting at a desk. Now, i can't speak for the other devisions I mentioned but if he is placed under my command, he count's as part of my pack. I've already lost a pack, and I'll never allow it to happen again." He let the hurt and anger he felt from so long ago rise up to back his words. Now to see what she had to say.

| "I'm afraid not. I don't pay much attention to the backgrounds of the various Coalition employees. I'm only concerned with age and working conditions. Background checks are completely up to them." Which was what she and Dino had used to enforce Jun's removal from the Trooper Group. Though she was curious about why that would matter. But she waited...and hoped that it did in fact, matter.
She listened intently. A magic user called a druid...then a werewolf...then continuing obligations as a druid, despite being a werewolf now. Then his role being shifted. And the new role was something that caught her interest most. It was something she and her husband did. Just in two vastly different ways. Then came the hit. And all respect for the man's preferred/new role went out the window. She said nothing, and waited to see if there was anything else he wanted to add.
There was. And her eyebrow quirked up at the mention of having fought Jun. "You were doing good until you mentioned your intentions. The United States clearly have laws against child labor, especially dangerous labor. For Jun's age, it states that he cannot be in harm's way and cannot work a certain amount of hours per week, even when he's abroad. While I can see and understand your conviction in your words...I'm afraid I can't let that happen, even with my permission or my husband's. Federal Law is very clear. You said you fought him...then you know how weak he is. Is that all?"
Her voice stayed even...though it was...strained. She wanted to say oh so much more. More specifically insults. Which would be easier since he mentioned he was a werewolf. She just hoped he would understand the insults and old pop culture back in the day.

| It didn't take long for his proposition to be shot down, but Xena gave him an opening. Alistair shook his head. "Well now that is a little saddening. Not that your denying my request, but that you think your son is weak. I did fight him, and he is far from weak, ms tomoshibi. He showed a great level of power and resourcefulness that will one day see him stronger than both you and I. And that day may be sooner that you might think. Perhaps you should believe in him a little more, and less in your laws and rules."
Alistair took a moment to let that sink in. he was ready for insults, but he didn't give her time to reply. "I understand you want to keep him out of danger, as every parent should. But restricting him to much might put him in more danger, through rebellion and doing something because you said not to. Think on that for a while.."

| Xena merely sighed. "Allow me to show you something." She led him to a closet, and opened it, revealing various locks and spy gear and other things that were used to attempt to keep Jun in his room, grounded. It was so full that the pieces of equipment spilled out into the room. "As you can see, I can plainly see his resourcefulness. And the only reason he really has a police record are a few thugs he's beaten up and the fact that he's my husband's kid. He stays out of trouble beyond those. Thugs are easy to beat. What gets him in trouble with us is his attitude. Thus we tried to ground him. He's beaten all of our attempts." It was her turn to let that sink in.
"Now, a hollow is so much different than a normal thug. Did you know that he was kidnapped by a hollow and put into some sort of alternate pocket dimension when he was eight years old? We were lucky Mr. Kerensky found and killed that monster. Hollows are so much more dangerous than a mere thug, even a small group of them. Jun is a Tomoshibi, almost eerily resembling his late great uncle, of course he will become strong in his own right. But he isn't right now. You are either weak like him or you're incompetent. I'd like to think the former. And again, the Coalition is not above the law. If or when the courts decide that teenagers with supernatural abilities are exempted from that particular law, then we'll see. Until then, I do believe that is all."

| Alistair shook his head even as his pribe bristled at her insult. He kept any hint of anger from his voice as he responded to that. "I am neither incompetent or weak. An incompetent person would not be able to see your son's strength, and a weak werewolf is a dead werewolf. I did not survive the last 1000 years on good luck and fortune, certainly not when being hunted for no good reason other than being different." There was a small amount of a growl in his voice at the end. But he'd tried to keep anger out of it. Alistair sighed and stood up.
"I've wasted enough of your time. i better go before i decide to eat you." He said the last part with a mocking smile that said he had no intention of trying. "Thank you for the tea, Ms tomoshibi. Have a wonderful day." Alistair said. There was no bitterness to his words, he was being genuine. He might not be able to convince her to break her precious laws, but he didn't need to be rude about it.

| She smirked when he spoke. When he got to the door, she spoke again. "Let's test that and get this cleared up once and for all." Hopefully he stopped. "Two fights. Naturally, you'll be given time to rest between. Scheduled when my husband and I have our days off. You lose just one, the matter with my son is over. You defeat us both, while officially he can't be put back into the Trooper group or in your division, you'll at least have our silent consent. Just know that if he comes back missing a finger or dead, we know who to take to the cleaners. You defeat one of us...you'll gain back at least my respect and will listen to you again. What do you say?"
It was risky...but this was annoying. This time, this should be resolved.

| Alistair stopped at the door as she spoke. He turned to meet her, a grim crossing his face. "I knew i liked you. Its a deal then, I suspect its not wise to fight in the city, so we can use one of the coalitions training rooms. The one under the coalition building would be best, but its up to yourselves." Alistair offered her a card that contained his contact details, which was a single phone number. "You can reach me on that. Thanks again for your time." Alistair said. Then he left. | |
