Personality: Kaito is a very interesting young man. As being one of the last Quincy, he is determined to show off his power in every way. He feels very close to the other remaining Quincy and would do anything to protect his race. This comes from the fact that he was forced to watch as his mother and father were killed by arrancar. Because of the fact that he did not have the power to defend them back then, he wishes to gain unbelievable power at all costs. Though he does help people, it is mostly done so that he may increase his power. During battle Kaito becomes very serious and determined to be the winner. He does not like distractions and will never team up with people that he feels would hold him back. Due to his past, a strong ominous power can be felt brewing inside of him. It is said that at least 3 personalities have been observed.

Powers: Hirenkyaku (飛廉脚; lit. "flying screen step/god step", "flying bamboo-blind leg" in the Viz translation) — Analogous to the Shinigami Flash Steps or the Arrancar Sonído, the Quincy Hirenkyaku allows the user to move quickly over short distances
Silver Tube Techniques:
Heizen (聖噬, haizen; German for "heat") — This technique creates a transparent, rectangular beam of energy from silver tubes which slices through the opponent. It is activated by the command "Feel the wrath of battle and accept this sacred chalice - Sacred Bite!
Gritz (五架縛, gurittsu) — This technique forms a man-sized pentacle symbol which envelops its target. It is activated by the command "A silver rod strikes the five-fingered stone bed - Quintuple Restraining Frames!"
Wolke (緑杯, vorukōru; German for "cloud") — This technique uses a silver tube to create a large blast. While it may not be intended for use as such, Uryū uses it to cushion the impact of a fall. It is activated by the command "Tilt the goblet to the west - Emerald Grail!"
Sprenger (破芒陣, supurengeru; German for "explosion") — This technique uses five Seele Schneiders to create a pentagram-shaped seal, which when activated causes a massive explosion within its borders. The Seele Schneiders function as accumulators, gathering the necessary amount of spirit particles to create the explosion. The liquid inside a silver tube acts as the trigger. The preparations for the technique combined with the charging time for the Seele Schneiders make its use in battle impractical unless the user has a partner that can stall to buy time.

Due to his corrupted power Katio's bow as well as his arrows are black/purple. While firing his normal arrows, Kaito averages about 3,000 shots per second. Kaito also has the ability to materialize a pole arm that he can use to fight. He can use it with his Darkness Dragon or just channel his dark energy into it.

New Powers:

Darkness Dragon Arrow Using his dark reiatsu, Kaito fires a jet black arrow of immense power and strength. After fired the arrow head becomes that of a dragon, capable of biting the victim on impact added to the reiatsu damage. More time is needed the greater the power used.


Corrupted Armor: Using his dark powers Kaito surrounds himself in a large amount of reiatsu. This works as both a defensive and offensive skill. The defensive power of the reiatsu is that of a Espada class hierro. The energy can then also be channeled through his bow. The arrows created from this energy has horrifying piercing power.

Demon's Barrage: Kaito unleashed the force of his bow with a large amount of arrows. The number of shots in the attack(if they could be counted) average to about 15,000. Each shot has the power of a normal arrow fired by Kaito. No damage is increased just the speed and quantity.

Due to the corrupted power Kaito now posses, the Sanrei glove has been absorbed into his arm. This allows Kaito to tranform into the ultimate quincy form (much like the banki of a shinigami or arrancar) and revert back without losing his powers.

During his ultimate form, Kaito's wing is black/purple and his power becomes greatly increased. His armor, dragon and barrage become much more powerful. Hirenkyaku also is greatly increased. The number of shots in Demon Barrage is doubled during this time. This takes a lot of power from Kaito and will leave him very fatigued after his transformation. With rest or a healer he will recover fully in a few hours.
Quincy Items: Quincy cross (滅却十字, mekkyaku jūji)— Standard equipment for any Quincy, the Quincy Cross acts as the focus for a Quincy bow.
Sanrei glove (散霊手套, sanrei shutō) — The sanrei glove is a powerful Quincy artifact that can increase a Quincy's power exponentially, but requires a dangerous and exhausting type of resistance training (wearing it for a week while constantly firing spiritual arrows) to master. The glove works by scattering the spirit particles in the surrounding area, making it much harder to form a working bow. If a Quincy can summon a bow and use it for the required amount of time, they will have undergone a massive increase in power. When removed, however, the glove will release the user's energy all at once - first transforming them into a being of tremendous strength, and then forcing their Quincy powers to gutter out completely.
Seele Schneider (魂を切り裂くもの（ゼーレシュナイダー）, kon wo kirisaku mono; lit. that which slits the soul; German for "soul cutter") — The Seele Schneider is a thin sword that can be fired similarly to an arrow. It's much longer than a standard arrow and functions something like a chainsaw: the spirit particles of its blade vibrate at ultra-high frequencies, loosening the molecular bonds between any spirit matter it cuts so that the Quincy user may easily absorb the freed spirit particles.
Silver tubes (銀筒, gintō) — Silver tubes are small liquid-filled capsules that store spiritual energy, and are used by Quincy for spellcasting in the same way that Shinigami use kidō.
Background: Kaito was introduced to the Quincy powers at a very young age. When he was only 3 years he and his family were attacked by a horde of hollows. His parents with the help of their friends were able to drive away the hollows. Kaito was mesmerized by the display the his parents put on even though he did not understand any of it at the time. At the age of 9 Kaito's father began to teach him the art of the Quincy. During this time he built up a strong relationship with both of his parents. The day of Kaito's 13th birthday his parents gave him a large chest and a key. He was told that one day he could use the chest to discover his power, but that day had not yet come. Kaito accepted this gift graciously and trained hard for the day that he could finally open the chest. Kaito loved his powers and trained very hard so that he may one day master them.
He trained everyday with his father until the age of 15. Three days after his birthday, soon after he feel asleep Kaito was woken by a thunderous crash. Everything moved so fast that Kaito didn't even have time to fully grasp what was occurring. When he could finally move, Kaito ran to his dying parents and looked up just in time to see three arrancar going back to their own world. Kaito swore to his parents that he would become strong and avenge their deaths. Kaito's father told him that all the information he needed was in a letter inside of the chest.
After burying his parents, Kaito went into hiding for the next 3 years. During this time he worked to master the items in the chest and greatly increase his power so that he may one day find those arrancar and bring honor to his parents. Kaito recently left his haven in search of other Quincy so that together they may stop the pain caused by those who are evil.

Side Note: Kaito is very strong for his age. This is because of his constant training and his determination to become powerful. Both of these things are amplified by the emotional strength given to him after seeing his parents killed, thus making him strong despite his some what young age.
